Volunteer Checks

Volunteers are crucial to The Duke of Ed, and without them it would not operate as efficiently and well.

But just as Coordinators have responsibilities to their Participants, so do Volunteers, which is why it is a prerequisite of The Duke of Ed that all Assessors must agree to the Volunteer Code of Conduct.  You can read more about the Volunteer Code of Conduct here.  Australian Group

This agreeance is not only to make sure that Volunteers provide great guidance for participants, but so they accurately understand their role in The Duke of Ed program.  By agreeing to this Code, all Volunteers agree to a police check if requested by The Duke of Ed Licensee.

As Coordinators are the main contact for Participants in their Award, they responsible for making sure that their Participants have not only safe Assessors, but that they are experienced/qualified for the task at hand.

Participants and family who aren't too sure about an Assessor are able to request a 'Working with Children Check' through their State/Territory office.
