Parents and Guardians are crucial to a youth's experience of The Award.  Not just because any Participant under the age of 18 requires Parental/Guardian permission, but because there is no better support for Participants than those who are closest and dearest to you!  This page provides information and links to pages throughout our website so you can better understand what The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is about.

 

What is it?

The Award is a fantastic program created for young people aged 14 - 25 years of age.  They can to make their own uniquely designed program which they follow to achieve an Award.  Visit About The Award to find out the details.

Safety

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is committed to the safety and protection of all young people and has developed a manual of  processes, policies and procedures aimed at minimizing all risk. The Risk Management page will link you to a variety of policies such as Child Protection and Volunteer Checks.

The Award Handbook and Guidelines

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award National Office has just finalised the latest 2009 edition of The Award Handbook, which lists the responsibilities, processes and information on The Award that all involved must follow and know.  This includes State Offices, Licensed Operators, Coordinators and Assessors.  You can download a copy of The Handbook from our Resources page.
